About The history of Hajj in Islam dates back thousands of years before the mission of the Prophet Muhammad, specifically to the time of the Prophet Abraham. Islamic sources state that Abraham was living in the Syrian desert, and when his slave girl Hagar gave birth to Ishmael, his wife Sarah was very sad about this because he had no children from her, so she used to hurt Abraham about Hagar and make him sad. Abraham complained about this to God, who ordered him to take Ishmael and his mother away from her, so he said: “O Lord, to where?” He said: “To my sanctuary and my security and the first spot that I created on my earth, which is Mecca.” Gabriel came down to him on the Buraq, and he carried Hagar, Ishmael, and Abraham.
